Expos Prevail 4-2 Over Razorbacks

First Rain in Weeks

Updated Friday June 8, 2018 by Andy Philip.

Expos chucker Chris Tibbles went the distance for the boys in royal blue, scattering 6 hits with no BB in the win.   Tibbles signed a 6 year contract extension after the game, ensuring he will remain an Expo for years to come despite persistent offers from another club.   Upon signing the deal, Tibbles noted how much he likes throwing to BMac behind the dish, and that his agent is no longer fielding trade offers.

Shawn Filipenko was the offensive catalyst for the Expos, walking to lead off the botom of the first, stealing twice and scoring the game's opening run on a PB.   He then laced a two hop double to the wall in left to score 2 more in the 3rd, and played a solid CF in his 2nd year since getting called up to the big club from the Expos' triple A affiliate in Ottawa.

Scotty Morris also hit his first double since Reagan was in the White House, a towering blast down the right field line that would have landed in the concession hut if the game was at Thompson.   He asked me to add that to my write up.

The pesky Razorbacks had a variety of solid hits off Tibbles and played great D, especially Shawn P in Centre.
