Cardinals Out Baseball Mudcats

Updated Wednesday August 1, 2018 by J Biggs.

The Mudcats and Cardinals met for the second and final meeting of the season. The Mudcats started Chris Davenport and the Cardinals countered with Trevor Johnstone.

The pace of game moved quickly early on as the pitchers made good baseball pitches and the fielders made good baseball plays.

In the top of fourth, Chris Smith started the scoring by swinging at a first pitch slider for a two out baseball hit that scored Arthurs. The Cardinals responded in the bottom half with more baseball hits and scoring five baseball runs off a lot of baseball "doubles" (a "double" is when a baseball batter uses the baseball bat to strike the baseball ball into the field of baseball play and advances two offensive baseball positions on the baseball field.)

After the game, the Mudcats baseball pitcher Davenport attributed the five baseball points scored in the fourth baseball inning to "shaking off" the Mudcats baseball catcher Chris Smith. One such "shake off" was caught on tape and depicted in the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85RZMIAL7vM

The end.
